How to roll dice online

Choose how many dice to roll, select a side count, then press Roll dice. Each die gets a separate result. The total appears underneath.

This virtual dice roller handles anything from one die to twenty at once, with 2 to 1000 sides on each. Results are listed one by one in your roll history, so you can check a total or settle a dispute without rolling again.

Six-sided dice with dots

With six sides selected, the Standard view shows familiar dot faces, just like the dice in a board game box. Choose one die for a simple 1 to 6 result, two dice for most board games, or three dice when your game calls for them.

Any number of sides

Type any whole number from 2 to 1000 in Sides and each die shows a numbered result instead of dots. For tabletop roleplaying dice with modifiers, try the RPG dice roller. For letters, colors or your own list of options, open the custom dice roller.

Choose your style

Use dots for familiar six-sided dice or switch to numbers for compact results. Turn on 3D animation for movement, or keep the calm 2D view.

Standard, 2D and 3D views

Standard shows dot faces for six-sided dice and numerals for everything else. 2D always shows plain numerals, which is handy for quick math. 3D tumbles each six-sided die as an animated cube before it settles on the face that was already drawn; other side counts flip a numbered card.

Sound and motion

Sound starts off. Turn it on with the Sound button to hear a short, quiet click after each roll. The animated 3D view is disabled when your device asks for reduced motion, and the result never depends on the animation.

What can I use this for?

Try board games, counting practice or a quick random choice. For roleplaying, use the RPG roller with modifiers and advantage controls.

Fair, independent results

Every die is drawn separately from your browser’s cryptographic random number generator, using a method that gives each side exactly the same chance. Read more about how results are generated.

Frequently asked questions

No. Use the roller directly in your browser. There is no native app download, no install and no account. It is a free web app that works on phones, tablets and computers.

Yes. Standard and 2D views show the result straight away. Only the 3D view animates, and it is switched off automatically when your device asks for reduced motion.

Up to 20 dice in one roll, each with 2 to 1000 sides. The total adds every die together, and each individual result stays visible.

Your last 20 rolls stay in the history panel while this tab is open. Nothing is saved to your device or sent anywhere, and reloading the page clears the list.
